My Story

Most of us are aware that diet and exercise play major roles in the fight against heart disease and/or diabetes. What I often see is, although we want to incorporate these changes into our lifestyle, we just don't know how to do it on our own. We all have different habits, cultural needs, likes and dislikes. â€‹Let me help you learn to manage your disorders, specifically tailored for you, so you can live a healthier lifestyle and get your risk factors under control.

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BS in Kinesiology, from Columbia University/Teachers College with an MA in Applied Physiology and Nutrition, and from Columbia University with a BA in Nursing. I am Board Certified as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), and a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS) from the Rutgers University Tobacco Dependent Treatment program.

My career began at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, NYC in Outpatient Cardiology. With a strong focus on cardiovascular disease prevention, I assisted in the diagnosis and care of thousands of patients, grasping a deep understanding of how best to find and manage disease and successfully.

At The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ for the past 15 years I have continued my focus on cardiac care covering units with post-interventional, post-surgical, Congestive Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarction, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Diabetes and Smoking Cessation. In addition I consult patients for Diabetes Education at a private Endocrinlogy practice.
